The primary mission of SunsetSurf.com is to celebrate and protect the raw beauty of Sunset Beach (officially called Will Rogers State Beach at Sunset Blvd) in Pacific Palisades, California. Sunset Beach is a natural point break, though it has been severely modified by public works projects, such as the Gladstones parking lot. Though often overlooked, the point attracts dolphins, whales, seals, pelicans, and other sea-life passing by it. In functioning as a point break, Sunset has the ability to deliver outstanding waves for surfing. However, the quality of surf is highly variable and extremely tide-dependant. Therefore, a key objective of this site is to provide a set of comprehensive tools for surfers in their quest to extract the magic of Sunset Beach. SunsetSurf.com was founded by Scott Grusky, a local surfer who was grew up in Pacific Palisades and whose life was forever changed when he first slid down the glimmery face of a perfect Sunset wave.
